Experiments with Electronics
My dabblings with electronics bagan at a very young age. I started building
circuits by taking plans from magazines when I was in sixth grade.
Needless to say, I did not understand how any of it worked, but building the
gizmos provided excitement enough. Some of the things that were constructed in
my pre-college years are -
- Musical door bell
- Burglar alarm
- 1/4 Watt shortwave radio transmitter
- Electronic bug
- Microprojector
</ul>
More recently, I have developed an interest in sensors and microcontrollers. I have built a device to measure temperature, humidity and acceleration for use in my Indash PC. It uses Basic Stamp 2 as its controller. But this is an expensive solution, so I have started looking into cheaper alternatives such as PIC and PICAXE.
A very good introduction to practical electronics can be found here.
